Gen 1:1 Who is God?

God is the name we give for the highest authority. The highest authority in anything is logic: logic is the test of truth. So logic is the final and highest God. But then logic would say that, wouldn't it? :) So let's see what the Bible says:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
Science suggests that the Big Bang created the universe. And the forces of physics created the Big Bang. And mathematical logic created the forces of physics. And as I show on my other site, logic is self existing and creates everything.

So when we remove the supernatural Bible Goggles, the implication of Genesis 1:1 is that God is logic. Exactly as stated in John 1:1. When Moses asked for God's name, he have the following:
And Moses said unto God,* Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM : and he said , Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (Exodus 3:13-14)
As I argue elsewhere, logic is nothing more or less than "a thing is not what it is not". So again we see that God is logic. Moses was very concerned that people do not make graven images: god is not a thing to be seen, he is an abstract principle.

Is this idea too advanced for those poor primitive people? Of course not. Exodus (in the present form) was written in the 500s. At that time a few hundred miles to the west Pythagoras developed the view that everything is mathematics, and "God is number". Pythagoras, like Moses, learned from the mathematicians in Egypt. Two hundred years later Plato was teaching that the logos (logic)is the highest God of all.

Our Bible Goggles have made us see God as supernatural. But remove the goggles and read the text. The only people who define God are Moses and John. Both tell us that God is logic.

*Since God is abstract and so needs some medium to be i the physical world, the Bible also used word God (elohim) for people who represent (or claim to represent) God. Hence judges were called gods, Adam could walk and talk with gods, etc
